What is your background and what are some of the projects you've worked on?</strong></span></h1><p>MOFAC &amp; ALFRED is a CG animation and motion graphics company that has created a unique visual effect for 4 years. Our first project was FREE STYLE2 and we’ve been recently working on the VFX project for a mobile game, ‘BLADE’ which Marvelous Designer was used in.</p><p></p><h1><span><strong>How long have you been working in the industry?</strong></span></h1><p>I am Heeseok-Choi, a 3D Design director at MOFAC &amp; ALFRED. I have been working in the industry for the past 10 years. I started with product design and then moved into modeling after that.</p><p></p><h1><span><strong>In your project, what were the elements where Marvelous Designer was used?</strong></span></h1><p>Marvelous Designer was used in creation of objects for Monster and Background in PC and NPC. When we first started our project ‘Black Desert’, I have started using Marvelous Designer to design capes, skirts and hoodies for this project. I became a big fan of Marvelous Designer as it allowed us to generate 3D clothes quickly from scratch. Due to time constraints, I chose Marvelous Designer for 3D modeling and simulation.</p><p></p><h1><span><strong>Could you describe challenges in which Marvelous Designer was of use to you and go into detail regarding how Marvelous Designer helped overcome them?</strong></span></h1><p>We always encountered the problem that designs could work well in 2D but not in 3D, or vice versa. With Marvelous Designer you can design in 2D and it can be reflected directly in 3D to see some changes. This has broken down many barriers!! It represents a tremendous savings in time of creative production. I have tried other similar programs but I didn't feel too comfortable with them. I still remember the feeling I had when I was able to make my first things in Marvelous Designer. YOYOGI MORIは少人数のチーム制作と伺っています。</p><p>プロセスのなかでMarvelous Designer が役立っている場面はありますか？</p><p>A. 小人数チームならではということであれば、それぞれの専門分野が活かしやすい点ですね。3Dモデラーがより服らしい良いシワを作ろうとするより、服が好きな人間がその部分を担当した方が良いものに出来ると考えています。 既存の3Dツールにあるスカルプト機能では表現するのが難しいような、生地感の差異やパターンによるシワ感を得られる点がかなり大きな利点ですね。 また、概念的な話ですが、実際の服の型紙を引くようにモデルの製作が出来るので、出来上がった製品に服としての説得力を持たせることができるのも素晴らしい点かと思います。</p><hr><h2>制作上の課題と解決策</h2><p>Q. VRChat向けの服制作で、Marvelous Designer を使う際に難しかった点や、</p><p>それをどのように解決されたか教えてください。</p><p>A. VRChatに限った話であれば、慣習的にTポーズでの衣装作成を余儀なくされることが多いかと思いますが、その場合に袖山の高さが確保できずに、ジャケットやシャツなど肩のシルエットが大事な服飾の制作が難しかったです。YOYOGI MORIでは基準のポーズをAポーズにすることである程度見た目の美しさを解決しています。</p><p>また、実際の人間とアバターの体型を比較すると、アバターの方が極端にメリハリのある体型をしていることがあり、現実の感覚でパターンを作成すると不格好になってしまうことも往々にしてありました。その場合は、より細かくダーツをとってみたり、一部分だけに固定や強化を使用することで目的とする造形に近づけるようにしています。</p><hr><h2>今後の展望</h2><p>Q.
